MARCH 18, 2020

From the NAMI New Orleans Executive Director and Board of Directors:

Due to the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) through the Greater New Orleans area and in an effort to flatten the curve, all support and education programs have been suspended until further notice. This includes the NAMI Family Support Groups, NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups, NAMI Family-to-Family Education Courses, Mental Health First Aid Trainings, community presentations, our annual membership meeting, and the Uptown Drop-In Center.

For direct services (Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment, talk therapy, medication management, etc.), there will be no new patient intakes until further notice. There will be no PSR services offered this week, (status will be reevaluated weekly). The Uptown and Westbank offices are closed to the public except for those who have an appointment. There will be limited case management services. If you have a case manager, you can contact them on their work phone during business hours.

Please refer to this resource guide produced by NAMI to learn more about maintaining your physical and mental health during this time (including supportive services that can be accessed via phone or internet).
